Notes, Folds and GPU's

Galaxy Note 20, set to launch alongside, or with, the Galaxy Fold 2 in August have leaked with a very similar design to the S20 series. This may be another not-so-significant upgrade, but it does bring a few things worth noting.

For starters, the Galaxy Fold 2 could be integrated into the Note line as the Note 20 Ultra. While this information is still early in development, it is still a possibility, and it does make sense to be part of the Note series because of its focus on productivity and power usage. This is a big revelation, and might not actually be true, but could be part of the 'Galaxy One Series' some leakers have pointed towards. If the Fold 2 isn't the Note 20 Ultra, then it will be aligned with the Note 10 series.

The next major leak shows the selfie camera in the same place as the Note 10 and S20. Why is this so major? Well, while the camera is still in the same ALIGNMENT on the display, the camera may well be underneath it rather than obstructing it. This could be a new trend coming towards Q4 2020 and Q1 2021, although other manufacturers have already began testing this unique design already. The only potential downside to this is lesser camera quality, but the all-screen display just may be worth it.

Other than that, most of the device will feature the same old upgrades. Though, the regular Note 20 may be limited to 60 Hz while the Note 20+ at 120 Hz (which makes no sense at all). I don't think Samsung would make the vanilla Note 20 inferior to the plus variant unless this is the Lite or Pro versions we are looking at. But, then again, all three S20's have the feature, so why wouldn't all the Note 20's?

As a side note (pun intended), there have been talks of a new Exynos 1000 processor paired with a custom AMD mobile GPU. AMD and Samsung have been a long time coming, and partnered in the early years of the Android-sphere. Now, they are at it again, and it looks like Exynos users will no longer be complaining. Unless, of course, we have to wait another year. The aforementioned partnership may have to wait for the S30 or Note 30 line, depending on availability and the market at the time.

Keep an eye out for the Galaxy Fold Special Edition in July, retailing for $1,099 base. Samsung have enough left-over Fold devices to bring a Note Feature Edition for the Fold. This model is limited at LTE, has no UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) and could come with the Snapdragon 865 (somehow). More rumours will arrive in the coming weeks, so keeps your eyes peeled! Let me know if you guys find anything. (kyrangough2019@gmail.com)
