Best Personalization Apps for Android

Best Personalization Apps for Android

Android is one of the worlds most popular mobile operating systems, and there's no wonder as to why. From the many great apps, robust skins, and easy-to-use features, Android has it all. But, no Android device is the same, that is, on the inside. Many people leave their device alone, leave it all blank and boring. Where's the creativity? Where's the individuality? How ave people became this boring? Surely everyone wants to make their phone look unique? Well, for those of you who do, this one's for you!

1. Nova Launcher

At the top of this list is my favorite app of all time (for personlization. Nothing can beat Spotify for that.). Nova Launcher lets you customize just about anything, and you get to choose from the many features it has. Want a pixel-like phone? Nova has your back, with the ability to bring the Google Feed to the left of your home screen, the ability to change icon packs, and the many other cool Pixel features it has. Literally you could get the "At A Glance" widget, or even the search bar above, or below, the dock! Now that's customization right there.

The only downside to Nova Launcher, is the premium. Yep, you have to pay a premium price to access all of these amazing features. It costs $4.99 to buy the official premium version of the app, which, while it is a little much, it is definitely worth it.

2. AcDisplay

AcDisplay is a pretty cool app which basically brings Samsung's Always On Display to any mobile device. This app also requires a premium to use some features, but, again, it's worth it. You can change the wallpaper of the Always On Display, the clock style, the colour of the clock, and much more!

3. ZEDGE

ZEDGE is probably one of the biggest wallpaper, ringtone and notification tone store in the world, and it doesn't stop there! Nope, they provide cool games, quirky icon packs, and stunning live wallpapers. The only in app purchase you will have to make is to get rid of ads. Simple.

4. Corners

The Corners app brings rounded corners to your Android device. It doesn't matter if you have the latest model Galaxy, or even one of the new Nokia go phones, this app will bring rounded corners! It brings rounded corners by bringing a black overlay on your system, bringing the rounded-corner frame on top of every app. Rounded corners look absolutely amazing on all devices, so why not?

5. Energy Bar

Energy Bar is quite a useful app; it essentially makes it easier to determine how much battery you have left without having to pull down the status bar or look for the battery icon. All you have to do is look to the top of the device, and you'll see a long bar which reflects the amount of battery you have left! Simple, and convenient. Be careful though, you don't want to download the curved edition of the app if you don't have a Galaxy S8 or S9! (Also, there is a premium on this app too... Sorry!)

6. KWGT

Kustom Widget Maker is absolutely amazing if you use widgets on your phone often. I know I do! You can create some stunning widgets for you phone, or you can browse some of the created stuff (Some of it is amazing!). Whatever the you need, you will be able to create in KWGT!

7. Muviz

Muviz is a really cool navbar app which essentially brings on a cool animation on the navbar whenever there is audio playing. Really simple, but brings out a lot of personality. This app also provides a premium version.

8. ASAP Launcher

The last entry, ASAP Launcher has some creative ideas in mind for a custom launcher. While it does not provide quite enough customization features to your device, it does bring some cool concepts. The full screen custom home screen types are pretty useful, as I'm always checking the weather page to check the latest weather reports. I can also take a quick note, scroll through my contacts to quickly communicate with friends and family, and I can see all of today's calendar events; right from my home screen. How cool is that?

9. Good Lock (Galaxy OneUI devices only!)

The Good Lock app developed by Samsung and exclusive to the Galaxy Store allows you to customize your Galaxy phone with OneUI installed. With the Good Lock app, you can install other app 'modules' which allow you to change certain aspects of the UI, from the lock screen, to the Always On Display and the split screen controls. My favourite module is the QuickStar, which allows you to customize the notification area with new colours and you can change the status bar. You can change the alignment of the clock, change the visibility of certain icons, and add 'pop-up view' functionality to notifications.

10. MIUI-ify

MIUI-ify brings the notification quick panel from the MIUI 11 Android skin from Xiaomi to all of your Android devices. With root or ADB access, you can have MIUI-ify as the mane quick settings panel so you don't keep activating the default quick panel.

Out of all of these apps, my favorite has got to be Nova Launcher, though ASAP Laucher does bring some cool features that I have never seen before that keep the home screen UI clean and simple. I also love the design of the notification panel from MIUI-ify, the customization options from Samsung's Good Lock, and the 3rd party ambient display from AcDisplay. They all bring some flagship level software to even the most low end devices and do it certainly well!

Are there any apps that I've missed? Please let me know in the comments section below!
